Bieber Fever Strikes at Bridgeport Motorsports Park Sunday

Brett Bieber was charging hard at Spirit Auto Center Speedway on Sunday. The late afternoon matinee for the Slingshots took place just after hot laps on the new Kingdom of Speed, Bridgeport Motorsports Park.

Bieber started fourth and quickly worked his way to second behind Spirit Auto Center’s leading feature winner from a year ago Ryan Davey. Bieber used a move around the outside of Davey to secure the top spot. Once he was out front, Bieber was dominate for the remainder of the event.

“It’s cool to win this one,” said Bieber in victory lane. He added, “I like the new configuration and the way it allows the Slingshots to race. I’m just a fan like everyone else, so I’m staying to see the Modifieds race tonight on the big track.” It was Bieber’s fifth win at the speedway and his first since 2018.

CJ Fritz recovered from an early race set back to race into second with Michael Beckett coming home third.

Just after Bieber took the top spot, two of the early race favorites, Davey and Amanda Angstadt got together when Davey’s car spun. Angstadt, the opening night winner, retired from the event. Davey recovered to finish fourth.

Ryan Harris rounded out the top five.

The Slingshots are back to Friday night racing this coming Friday, July 17 at Spirit Auto Center Speedway.
