Entries Open for World Championship Weekend; Potential for double purses Oct 29-30-31

The World Championship Weekend is coming fast. Linda’s Speedway in Jonestown, Pa will once again play host to the championship crowing weekend for the Slingshots.

“I really want this to be the biggest weekend for the Slingshots of the year,” said Linda’s Speedway’s Michael Batz. “We are going to double the purse if we get 100 cars, we have some added stuff going on throughout the weekend as this all continues to grow.”

If the 100 car mark is hit the purse for each race will be doubled. That would put no less than $400 on the line to All Star Slingshot race winners and $50 to take the green in each of the four races. The Junior Slingshots would see an increase to $250 to win the Friday and Sunday portions of the weekend.

A new format will be in place for the Saturday night racing action going into the 2021 race. Details will be released soon.

World Championship Weekend offers a rare scenario of racing four times in three days. Friday night a single event is held. Saturday the action picks up and racing is held both in the afternoon and the evening. Sunday is the finale with racing in the afternoon before the newly crowned World Champions are introduced.

Entry forms and information about this event can be found on LindasSpeedway.com.

On Friday October 29 the gates will officially open at 5, but gates will be open for entry most of the day. Friday’s Practice will start at 6:30.

Saturday features the double header event. Gates will open at 11 and practice for the first race will start at 1. A full event will be run for both the All Star and Junior Slingshots. The track will then close and track work will be done while trick or treating will be offered in the pit area. Racing is scheduled to kick back off at 6:30 with practice for the second race of the day.

Sunday October 31 will be the conclusion of the weekend. Gates will open at 11 and Practice will start at 1.

Scott Neary (All Star Slingshot) and Paulie Hartwig III (Junior Slingshot) were drivers crowned as World Champions in the 2020 season.
